An attendance of 98,954 watched Wolves defeat Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup Final at Wembley on 7 May 1960.
Interestingly, this was the first FA Cup final to place the winners into the European Cup qualification and Wolves won it, after being the inspiration for the Cup, when they played Budapest Honved back in 1954.
Back in this day, Wolves were the Manchester City of the league having won the league title the previous three seasons and were beaten to their third successive championship this season after being beaten by a single point to the league title by Burnley.
Blackburn Rovers had finished 17th in the league on their return to top flight football.
Wolves had already beaten Blackburn 3-1 and 1-0 in the league so were obviously favourites going into this game.
Wolves won the match after an own goal from McGrath and two goals from Deeley sealed the title for them. You can watch the full game below!
